Mostar, day 3

In the morning we walked up to the top of Hum Hill overlooking Mostar. At the top of the hill is a giant cross constructed in 2000. It is controversial because from this same hill the "catholic" Croats shelled the Bosniak side of town during the war, and the Bosniaks see the cross as a reminder of that.

In the afternoon we wandered around town.

The walk up the hill took us through a Catholic graveyard

Part of the walk was along a secondary highway ... not so fun dodging traffic

View from the top

Having traditional Bosnian coffee

Ruined department store

Damaged apartment building with some units rebuilt

Damaged building with bottom floor occupied by a business

Plants growing inside a destroyed house

Murals around Mostar

Supper

I love this view
