Travel day to Yeghegnadzor, Armenia

Today we drove south to Yeghegnadzor, our next overnight destination. Our drive took us past Lake Sevan and our first stop was the Sevanavank Monastery with two surviving 9th century stone churches.

After forty minutes of driving south we stopped at Hayravank Monastery, also overlooking the lake from a rocky bluff.

Further down the lake we stopped at the Noratus cemetery with its hundreds of carved stone khachkar memorials.

After we left Lake Sevan the road climbed up to Vardenyats (Selim) Pass

At the pass is Orbelian's Caravanserai, a 14th century roadside inn for built for trade caravans that travelled this route.
